Previous results emerging from good working relationships within the Northland Mayoral Forum have seen immense benefits.  It would seem we have the structures in place to negotiate rewarding deals with government such as the immense 100% central funded forest road improvements in the region.  Similarly we joined together at the Northland Regional and Whangarei District Councils to have the expertise of one council assist with the flood management of the other. The next planned step is The One Stop Shop ….why are we waiting?
The overall problem at this time is so obvious as to be ridiculously easy to resolve – we are crying out for an “Enhanced Status Quo”, where personality agendas are removed and all the cogs can mesh together for the benefit of an advancing Northland.
“E.S.Q.” is not just cost efficient, compared with all the other council structure options, it spells out how we can all work together.
Let’s prove Northland can be parochial and progressive at the same time !!
